Texas Man Flies Plane into Tax Offices

By Bryce Craig

“Well, Mr. Big Brother IRS man, let’s try something different; take my pound of flesh and sleep well,” is what Joseph Andrew Stack posted online before he crashed his small airplane into a tax office building in Austin, Texas February, 18 in what seems to be an act of domestic terrorism against the U.S. government. Stack’s aerial assault left two dead and injured 13 others, two of which are in critical condition.

Stack began the morning by making some final changes to his suicide note before setting fire to his Texas home. Stack’s wife and stepdaughter were inside when he started the fire, but managed to escape unharmed.

Stack continued on to the airport where he took off in his small single engine aircraft for the last time. The plane collided with the Austin tax office building around 10 am and it took firefighters about 90 minutes to get the fire under control.

Authorities report that Stack’s attack did not have connections to any international terrorist organizations.
