Lady Bears Win A Close One 69-65

By LIVE

Down by two, the Lady Bears came out of the locker room with something to prove. After a bit of a sloppy first half, Missouri State clamped down and started getting shots to fall that didn’t sink before. They brought the 4,000 strong crowd into the game and the rowdy crowd did their part, never letting the Sycamores get the ball back without a roar of noise all throughout the possession.

Casey Garrison led the second half surge with a total of 27 points on the night. Overall the Lady Bears shot a respectable 42.6% from the field and had the edge on the free throw line as well hitting 75% of those shots.

The Lady Bears found themselves up by only two points with just 22 seconds to go in the second half, and with some clutch free throw shooting by Casey Garrison extended that lead to four points. With four seconds left, Taylor Whitely fouled out and sent Missouri State to the line again. Whitely couldn’t hit either shot but with less than one second on the clock all that was left for the Sycamores was a desperation heave. Missouri State overcame a sloppy first half and pulled away 69-65.
